Just a quick update:
Things have been pretty good, as of late. My grandmother’s surgery went unbelievably well, and is already out of rehabilitation. The doctor, upon taking out her staples, told her that she was nothing short of a medical miracle. I’m happy that she’s healing properly and quickly. I drove her back to her house after she was released, and her brother and sister-in-law are taking her in for a week to help her while she gets used to having her new knees.
As far as my math test is concerned, I somehow managed to pull a 97% out of my ass. I really can’t believe it, but everyone was right… hard work and dedication really do pay off. My next test is February 20th, so I’m hoping that I can ace it, too.
Things with le boyfriend are pretty swell. I went with him to Port Saint Lucie yesterday to visit with his cousins and see their house, as well as celebrate their birthdays (they are twins). His family always makes me feel welcome, and it’s a pretty wonderful feeling. I’m happy that I am made to feel a part of something so wonderful.
Also, I had a great conversation with my mom over the weekend, and was able to learn a lot about her that I never knew before. I know her and I have had our falling outs, but the poor woman has really been through a lot, and I have grown a new level of respect for her. I’m glad that she’s finally happy and safe and cared for. She more than deserves it.
That’s really all that has been going on. I haven’t been working much (or at all, really), and as much as it sucks being broke all the time, I’m thankful that my dad wants me and allows me to focus on school without having to worry about having a roof over my head.
I’m a pretty lucky gal :)
